Howdy there, Craig. Welcome to
planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to chit-chat about your upcoming
Walt Disney World vacation.
Craig, I love staying at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. In fact, my family and I stay there the week of Christmas each year. It's so much fun. I hope you'll really enjoy it as well.
All of the camping loops for everything except tent camping and pop-ups are pet friendly. If you are traveling with your furry friend, you won't necessarily need to request a particular loop because they'll all accommodate pups. Loops 100, 200, and 300 are considered preferred sites and will be located closest to the amenities like the pool and dining options. Loop 300 is also a good choice if your dog likes to play since it is located very close to the dog park that's on property. Loops 700-900 are also loops that I enjoy because they provide pretty views of the canals while walking your dog.
If you aren't bringing your dog with you and are trying to avoid contact with furry friends, don't worry. All dogs must remain on a leash at all times when outside. In all of the years I've stayed there, I haven't had any run-ins with any dogs as everyone really does seem to follow the rules when it comes to that - which I appreciate.
I hope that you've rented a golf cart or are bringing your bikes for your upcoming stay. Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a really large property and the fun stuff is spread out. Using a golf cart is the most convenient way to get around. You can
rent a golf cart directly from The Fort by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
I hope you have so much fun, Craig. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me.
Happy camping!
Jackie H.
