Hi, which forms of ID are accepted when purchasing beverages around the parks. We are from the UK and don't want to really carry our passports around. We have UK Driving licenses?

    Hi John!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I see you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort in early December.  This is one of my favourite times of the year to enjoy the magic!  All the Christmas decorations will be in place, at the theme parks and the Disney Resort hotels, to get you in the mood for the holiday season.  I thorough recommend visiting some of the hotels just to see their decorated lobbies.  The gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is beautiful, constructed with real gingerbread shingles, and last year, at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, they built a gingerbread cabin for the first time.  If you wish to buy alcohol anywhere at Walt Disney World you may be asked to present your ID.  Coming from the UK myself, I always carry my UK Driving Licence with me (the plastic card version, not the paper copy), and if I wanted to buy alcohol I would also take a photocopy of my passport - but it is important to ensure that your photo is clear, and your date of birth is visible. You could take a photo of your passport and keep it on your phone, and this should save you the need to carry your passport around - which is something I would prefer not to do.  If you have both documents (UK Driving Licence and Passport) this should be enough.  At Walt Disney World you cannot present only a UK Driving Licence for this purpose.

At this time, prior to the phased re-opening of Walt Disney World, we may need a little more considered and careful planning, but our holidays to Walt Disney World Resort can still be a magical experience.  Please read this information about Returning to a World of Magic, and keep your eye on any new posts from the Disney Parks Blog as more official details are announced.

We know you have many questions about what this all means for your upcoming visit.  Please know we are working to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, and we look forward to providing an update as soon as we have more information to share.  Come back and ask as many questions as you like!  We are always happy to help you plan your holiday.
