Hi Kimberly,
Thank you for your question. I can tell you from experience, visiting the Disney Resort Hotels and Parks as a guest is a wonderful treat. As prior Cast Members, we know of the integral plans and systems setforth to create magical guest experiences. Your guest experience will only be heightened knowing firsthand the planning and pixie dust occurring backstage.
In each Resort Hotel category on the disneyworld.com site, you'll find a list of amenities included in your stay. For instance,
Disney's Art of Animation Resort offers the largest pool of any Resort Hotel offered at Walt Disney World. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside offers the intricately adorned Royal Guest Rooms. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort offer a rustic theme and the ability to cook in a fully equipped kitchen. There are so many options, you can spend weeks deciding on the theme that suits you best. I'd suggest checking out the independent site allears.net and view photos of each Resort Hotel to see what appeals to you! The Deluxe Resorts will provide the largest array of amenities, including recreational activities and outstanding Signature dining locations. Renting surreys or watercraft, for example, would be an additional charge. I can tell you with confidence, my family rarely comes out of pocket for "extras" while staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, simply because the theming, pools and ambience provide the perfect amount of entertainment. Movies Under the Stars is a perfect example of a complimentary activity offered, suited for all ages.
The Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long has become quite popular. Anyone can attend and to my knowledge it's the only complimentary character experience across property.
I'm limited in space, Kimberly, but can expand on any topic you'd like to discuss further.
Happy planning.
