Aloha, Aneliz!
Thanks for bringing your great question to our planDisney cruise crew! WOW, this is such a dream itinerary and I’m thrilled for you to experience two glorious weeks on the lovely Disney Wonder. I’ve never been to the South Pacific but it’s #1 on my bucket list as I’m a true island girl at heart. You must be getting so excited for this dreamy sailing, and I’m happy to confirm the evening attire for you.
The October 13, 2023 14-Night South Pacific Cruise from Honolulu ending in Sydney has the following evenings planned:
- The first Saturday (at sea) is Formal Night
- The second Saturday (at sea) is Pirate Night
- The second Monday (at sea) is Semi-Formal Night
Please note the entertainment schedules are always subject to change, but you can confirm the exact days for these occasions in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App once you flip to “onboard mode” on the ship.
All other evenings are designated Cruise Casual, and the specific themed nights are always optional. My family loves to take advantage of our cruise atmosphere to dress up a little on these special nights, and we always have some wonderful pictures taken to remember those evenings. Pirate Night is a beloved Disney Cruise Line tradition, and you’ll see some Guests in full pirate costumes or regalia, and others (like my family) with a nod to the theme. My boys like to wear pirate tees and I always enjoy bringing my Pirate Minnie Ear headband and a matching pirate themed scarf. Whatever you choose for these three nights, you will be welcome as can be to enjoy a delicious dinner in the main dining room and enjoy the amazing atmosphere brought on by the fun themes.
With this incredible sailing across the Pacific Ocean, you will experience the rare opportunity to cross the International Date Line on October 21, 2023 which means that you will essentially “lose” this day. The ship will arrive in Sydney, Australia on October 27, 2023 but due to crossing this magical line you will spend 13 nights onboard (though the itinerary is called a 14-night cruise). You will receive guidance and reminders onboard about this unique situation, but please know that the day after you lose that mysterious Friday will be Pirate Night on Saturday.
I hope this thoughtful question means you are getting started on your packing! You may consider planning to do some laundry onboard to reduce some of your luggage; I did this for our summer sailing to Alaska and was so glad I did. The laundry rooms are convenient, easy to use, and will even send a text message to your device to alert you that your load is complete. Each wash or dry cycle is $3.00 and will be charged to your stateroom. You can find the laundry facilities midship on Decks 2, 6, and 7. You may also have your laundry done for you onboard if you prefer; find a bag and price sheet with instructions in your stateroom closet for both laundry and dry cleaning. Be sure to notify your Stateroom Host to confirm a pick-up.
I hope this incredible voyage is everything you’ve ever dreamed of and more, Aneliz! Wishing you a smooth sailing and memories made to last a lifetime.
Bon voyage,
Amy
