Hi there, Roxann!
Welcome to planDisney! I am glad you sent your question to us. My family sailed on a
Halloween on the High Seas cruise last year, and we had so much fun! We dressed as villains and heroes, and we were excited to hello to Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus. I also loved checking out the creative costumes worn by other Guests!
Formal nights usually take place on
Disney Cruises that sail for at least 7 nights in my experience. However, 5-night cruises often have an optional dress-up night where you can dress as fancy or as casual as you like (as long as it abides by the
dress code, such as no swimwear). I checked the attire schedule for a few 5-night, Halloween on the High Seas cruises. Most of the cruises have one optional dress-up night, one Halloween costume evening, one Pirate Night, and two casual attire evenings.
Pirate Night is always my favorite night when sailing on the Disney Cruise Line! One year, my family dressed as characters from Peter Pan (and of course, we had Captain Hook with us!), although we wore a variety of pirate costumes during our last cruise. Make sure to check out the “Pirates in the Caribbean” Deck Party, a fun, interactive experience that often includes fireworks (subject to weather conditions). Watching fireworks while sailing on the Disney Cruise Line is a breathtaking experience!
Roxann, thank you again for contacting planDisney. We hope to see you real soon!
Happy sailing!
Jen
