Ahoy there, Janis,
Welcome aboard planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question. It sounds like you are making your
packing list for your upcoming cruise. I'm someone who loves a good list, so let's get started!
One of the things I love about a Disney Cruise Line vacation is the flexibility. Most evenings,
the dress code is truly "cruise casual," meaning you can even wear shorts to dinner if you prefer. However, swimsuits should be reserved for the pool areas and the
adult-exclusive dining venues require a little more polish. For longer cruises, some nights are designated as formal or semi-formal dress-up nights, but these are always optional. One thing to consider, Janis, is bringing a little something to dress up for
Pirate Night or other themed nights, if any, during your cruise. No matter the night, some Guests go all out in their attire and others are more casual, so you can decide what is most comfortable for you!
While you are working on your packing list, Janis, don't forget to place anything you may need once you board the ship in your carry-on bag since it may take a few hours for your checked baggage to be available. I always include the basics like a water bottle and sunscreen, as well as any valuables, medications, cruise documents and identification. If you plan to hit the pool or the
AquaDunk, slip a swimsuit in your bag, too!
I hope this helps you in your planning, Janis. Please write to us again if you have other questions or need some tips for exploring
Disney Magic!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
