Welcome, Andrea!
At
planDisney, we're always happy to help add a little extra magic to your Disneyland Resort planning. When coordinating meals and magical moments with your friends and family, it's only natural to want everyone on the same page. Let's take a look at how this works at Disneyland to make for a smooth magic carpet ride through your visit.
If you've visited
Walt Disney World, you may be familiar with
My Disney Experience, where you can link to friends and family. You can add them to dining reservations and special experiences so that those plans show up in their individual itineraries as well as your own. There are a few nuanced differences between Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and you have just stumbled onto one of them. Currently, the Disneyland app does not have the ability to share dining reservations between accounts. Any reservations made with a specific account will only be visible for that Guest. I know, not the pixie-dusted news you were hoping to hear! My planDisney pals and I have a workaround where we send a smartphone calendar invite to everyone to alert them when it's time to head to the restaurant.
The good news is that you can link to your friends and family to book
Lightning Lanes together if you have added Multi Pass to your tickets or purchased Single Passes. These will show up in everyone's individual account. To link together, head to the three-line icon in the
Disneyland App in the bottom navigation bar and tap "My Tickets and Passes". Here, you can scroll through any tickets you have purchased with your account. To link additional Guests to you, or to link yourself to them, tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner and select "Link Tickets and Passes". Here, you can simply scan their barcode directly from their phone or manually enter the ticket number located under the barcode. Sometimes, it's easiest to wait until you are all together and then spend a few minutes scanning barcodes and linking to each other. If you want everyone to be able to book Lightning Lanes for the full group, or even just a few within the group, I would recommend that everyone in the party links to each other's tickets. When you go to make a Lighting Lane selection, you will then be able to choose the full group or select members, giving your group maximum flexibility!
Andrea, I hope this has been helpful, and you can sit back and wait for the magic to wash over you. If you have any more questions, we are always happy to talk Disneyland here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
