It has been forever since I took my kids to Typhoon Lagoon and now I want to take my Granddaughter. Back in the day you just found a umbrella and chair and parked there for the day. Do you HAVE to rent in advance now? I look at my date and it says none

Hi there, Juanita, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're headed to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park with your sweet granddaughter in just a few short days, and you must be getting so excited! I'm so glad you've stopped by with this great question about your upcoming visit. My Panelist pals and I are here and always thrilled to help our fellow Guests!

Juanita, you'll be happy to know that, even if you're unable to reserve an umbrella ahead of time, you might still be able to find a shaded area to leave your belongings. My dear friend Sue recommends arriving early and heading toward Crush 'n' Gusher, where there are some shaded seats in a quieter area. Check out the helpful map before you arrive to get your bearings ahead of your visit. Since Guests can cancel umbrellas up to 24 hours in advance, you might consider checking back often as your visit nears to see if there is any new availability for an umbrella. You can always stop by the Overlook near the main entrance to see if any reservations have become available on the day of your visit.

Did you know that there are convenient lockers available for rent at Typhoon Lagoon? They're located near the changing rooms, making them a great option for storage throughout the day. You could keep valuables in the locker, and just bring a few essentials, like water and sunscreen, to wherever you'd like to have a seat.

Lastly, I wanted to make sure you're aware of Walt Disney World's exciting Water Park Benefit! In 2025, Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels can visit a water park on their check-in day, included with their stay. No additional Theme Park tickets are required, and you can stay as little as one night. If you're wanting to make the visit with your granddaughter extra-special, you might consider staying the night at a magical Disney Resort hotel after the water park - maybe even one where you can see fireworks!

Juanita, I hope this is helpful to you as you make your plans for your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Please stop by planDisney with any other questions you have!

    See ya real soon!
