I just had foot surgery and I am able to walk. But I am wondering if on the moving platform rides what would should I do. Go to the handicapped line or is there away to tell the cast member before getting on the ride?

Hi, Heather!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

A few years ago, I planned a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for our extended family.  My mother-in-law has some significant mobility issues.  We rented an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (scooter) for her to use in the theme parks.  She was able to transfer from her Electric Conveyance Vehicle or a wheelchair into most attraction vehicles, but attractions with a moving boarding platform were a challenge for her.  We found that the Cast Members were happy to slow down, or even stop, the moving platform for my mother-in-law to board the attraction comfortably and safely.

I would recommend that you speak with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance if you have any concerns about boarding.  They will be able to tell you who you should speak to about slowing down the moving platform, or if need be, direct you to an alternate entrance.  If you would like additional accessibility information for attractions, please refer to the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page on the Walt Disney World website.
