Hi there, Laura! Welcome to planDisney. How exciting that you have an upcoming spring trip planned to the parks! With a little one, there is so much to see, do, and eat. I’d love to walk you through some baby-friendly options that the parks offer.
With a little one of my own, I always make it a point to stop by the
Baby Care Centers. Whether it’s to change a diaper, use the toddler-sized toilets, or take a quiet break from the hustle and bustle, they’re wonderful, cozy spaces to get reenergized before heading back into the parks. In the vending machines, I’ve always found the snacks to be more shelf-stable options, such as puffs for beginning solids, formula, and puréed fruit and veggie pouches.
Depending on what stage of food your one year old will be able to eat during your visit, I find that finger foods are always best at this age. When we took my son on his first park visit around one year old, I packed my own porridge in a microwavable container and stored it in a small cooler with an ice pack. When it was time to eat, we headed over to the Baby Care Center so I could feed him in a low-stimulation environment.
When dining in the parks, you can always ask for a chef consult to see what’s suitable or modifiable for your one year old’s
dietary needs. This allows a chef to come to your table, walk you through the menu, and explain what may be most agreeable for your little one’s tummy. In addition, most snack locations offer fresh fruit, which is always a great on-the-go option that’s finger friendly. I know my son always had a blast when we purchased cut fruit, especially when it included his favorite berries!
Laura, thank you so much for visiting
planDisney! I hope you have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World. If you have any questions before then, planDisney is always here to help.
