Hi Kerry! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Oh boy! Only about a week away until you get to be a part of the
World's Most Magical Celebration! I love that the
Walt Disney World Resort has decided to extend the Celebration for 18 months to allow all Guests the opportunity to experience the magic! Be on the lookout for the golden sculptures displayed around each of the four theme parks as part of the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection! Each one portrays a popular Disney character and they make for the best photo backdrops.
One experience that has stood the test of time is
The Hollywood Brown Derby located at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Classic Hollywood is on center stage in this restaurant and the décor will make you feel as if you are in an old-time movie. Choosing to dine here is a great way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the park and relax with a delicious meal. I highly recommend getting an appetizer on the menu, but to be specific, try the sea scallops! This dish comes with a chipotle glazed pork belly which is out-of-this-world!
One thing that sets this restaurant apart is the number of options offered to children. The
kid's menu is à la carte and offers a small selection of starters and a larger choice for their entrée. Most kid's menus at other dining locations around Walt Disney World offer standard children's items and can be rather redundant. The Hollywood Brown Derby has a more interesting menu consisting of beef filet, seasonal fish, and even vegetarian pho. If your children are more adventurous eaters, these offerings will be perfect for their growing palate. If they happen to be anything like my daughters, they'll probably stick to the chicken or hot dog options.
Kerry, no matter where you decide to dine, there will always be a children's menu for your little ones. Even top-notch restaurants like
California Grill or
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera will accommodate all members of your party.
Have a magical vacation!
Greg
