    Food allergy safe

    Hello there, Rachel!

A warm welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for stopping by with an excellent Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm thrilled to see you'll be arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth very soon! As someone who's navigated food allergies and sensitivities at the Walt Disney World Resort previously, I'd be happy to help you understand your dining options to help keep everyone in your travel party safe and healthy.

Rachel, I'm happy to inform you that, in my experience, the Walt Disney World Resort is fantastic at handling food allergies and accommodating most common and uncommon allergy-friendly requests. Many of the Table-Service restaurants and some Quick-Service locations can accommodate Guests with the following allergies with no advance planning: eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat. Additionally, many dining locations can also accommodate less common food allergies, like gluten, corn, or lactose. I recommend checking out some of the menus published on the Walt Disney World Resort website or the My Disney Experience mobile app, as these feature glimpses of the allergy-friendly offerings! Finally, once you arrive at a dining location, I recommend requesting to speak with the chef or special diets-trained Cast Member to help you navigate your options.

While the restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort go to great measures to prevent allergen cross-contamination, they don't typically designate allergy-friendly kitchens. Therefore, it's not possible to guarantee that any menu item (even an "allergy-friendly" item) is 100% allergen-free. If the food allergy in question is extremely severe, I recommend bringing food from home, Rachel. Luckily, Guests are permitted to bring food into each of the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs! I do encourage you to check out Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC during your visit, as this Disney Springs eatery only serves up baked goods that are kosher and free from refined sugars, gluten, wheat, soy, dairy, and egg!

Rachel, I hope you've found this information helpful and I wish you a most magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any additional questions before or during your trip, just hurry back to planDisney! We're all ears.

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
