I have many food allergies and will be staying over a week. I was wondering if I can bring a hot plate to my resort hotel?

    Hi Susan!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As the mom to a little one with food allergies, I know how difficult it can be to enjoy meals away from home. Unfortunately, you cannot use a hot plate in a hotel room at Walt Disney World Resort as they are considered fire hazards. However, that won't stop you from having a wonderful vacation to visit Mickey. If you would like to cook your own meals, I recommend staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel room that has a kitchen for you to use. There are several Deluxe Villas at Walt Disney World Resort that have kitchens in the 1-bedroom suites. Another great option for you is to stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These beautiful cabins, which were recently refurbished, include in-counter burners that you can use to prepare your meals. Plus, the atmosphere at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is so quiet and peaceful, you will have a wonderfully relaxing vacation!

In our experience, Walt Disney World Resort has done a fantastic job accommodating my son's Special Dietary Requests. The Cast Members and Chefs have always been very helpful in making sure he can enjoy safe and tasty meals with the rest of our family. If you have any questions about accommodating your specific food allergies during your trip, I recommend that you contact the Special Diets Team by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com so they can help you be prepared for your magical trip.

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
