Steven from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Will there be the following this year. Not Scary Halloween, trick or treat trail & Port Orleans resorts open? My sister & I have a reservation for this fall. Wait until next fall 2022?

You are planning a trip during one of my favorite times of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, Steven. That's so exciting for both you and your sister. You're in for a real treat (no tricks in sight)! Have you heard about The World's Most Magical Celebration taking place in October? It promises to be quite a party and your vacation date will allow you to experience it. Lucky you!

Of course, the pandemic has caused some changes in both the theme parks and resort hotels. It's important to stay informed about all of the current health and safety measures in place as you plan the details of your vacation. I know one of the events you're specifically interested in is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You've got a good reason to be eager; it's a frightfully fun celebration. Unfortunately, there have not been any announcements just yet as to the status of this event, or any other Halloween activities, for 2021. The Disney Parks Blog is a fantastic resource for timely updates on event availability and announcements. Keep a close eye on it!

You also asked about Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Both of these moderate resorts are currently closed and an opening date has not yet been announced. If that should change before your trip, you really can't go wrong with a stay at either. The grounds of each of these resort hotels are just gorgeous.

Each traveling party will have to determine whether or not now is the right time to plan a Disney vacation. As the phased reopening continues, we will learn more about the status of some favorite Halloween events for this year. If you do decide to go, maybe these tips for visiting Walt Disney World Resort in 2021 will prove helpful.

I wish I could offer you some more concrete information, Steven. Like you, I'm watching and eagerly awaiting announcements about special events this fall. Let's hope Tink sends a little extra pixie dust our way!
