Hello. Following the face mask policy update beginning June 15, my family is due to visit in October - my husband and I will both be fully vaccinated but our 2 and 6 year old will not be. Will they still have to wear masks or will they be exempt?

Hey there, Laura! I’m so happy that you’ve stopped by to see us here at planDisney, and that you’re planning a fall visit to Walt Disney World! This is a time of much change and excitement surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort. With so many updates coming rapidly, we here at planDisney are happy to try to shed light on them!

As you’ve noticed, there has been a recent update in the masking policy due to the availability of vaccinations. The newest policies are outlined on the Experience Updates pages and updated frequently. As of June 15th, fully vaccinated Guests are exempt from wearing masks if they choose to, unless utilizing Disney transportation. While on buses, monorail, the Disney Skyliner, and watercrafts, all Guests must wear face coverings. Unvaccinated Guests, including those too young to be vaccinated, must still wear masks in all locations except pool decks and outdoor common areas. This will still apply to those ages 2 and up, as before.

With so much celebration on the horizon, including the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, you could not have picked a better time to visit than this coming fall! If we can help you in any other way with your planning and preparation, please do not hesitate to come back and see us again soon!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
