Hi folks, Taking my grandkids to Disney World in August. I love to plan ahead, that's part of the magic. Unfortunately, my grandson has a gluten allergy. Two questions please: Are there gluten free options at Sleepy Hollow and Tortuga Tavern?

Hey Kathleen, thanks for stopping by with your question.  I think Disney has made great strides in providing great options for people with food allergies.  It seems like every time I visit, there are new gluten free options popping up all over the parks.

I do know that Sleep Hallow offers gluten free options.  You'll need to ask a Cast Member what your options are when you get there, I've heard they change once in a while.  I do know that they don't offer any type of gluten free waffle options but will make a really nice fruit bowl instead.  Tortuga Tavern just updated their menu (I've linked to it) and the new offerings look great! I think a lot of options could be customized to be gluten free but again, you'll need to speak to a Cast Member when you get there.

If you are open to suggestions, I suggest checking out Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom. The have a separate gluten free menu that you can request when you get there.  I've heard their allergy free chicken strips are some of the best around.

I hope this helps.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
