Hiya Catherine!
Welcome to planDisney! I realized the other day when I was looking at my walking app that every peak day that I was walking quite a bit was actually days I spent in Walt Disney World. There was a dramatic difference from my normal day where I struggled to reach 10,000 steps to a park day where I would easily go over double that. Walking in Walt Disney World is guaranteed to be intense and tiring.
Now, according to the
Park Rules, folding chairs are not allowed in any theme park, water park, or at Disney Springs. Thankfully, Walt Disney World Resort does have an option as an accommodation for guests who need assistance in attraction queues, and that includes
allowing a walker with a seat or a cane chair. Make sure to be mindful about where you stop and sit as you cannot obstruct "sidewalks, entrances, driveways, patios, vestibules, stairways, corridors, halls or landings." Don't forget to label your cane in case it gets lost so that it can be returned to you.
Please take your time when traveling in the Parks and take time to rest. I always plan to have a long sit-down lunch midday so that I can relax and regain feeling in my toes. I also alternate shoes each day so that I don't create a blister on my feet. If you do end up with a blister or feel unwell, head over to
First Aid located in each of the Parks. I received free clean bandages, wipes, and moleskin to keep my blister from getting worse on my last visit and it was a lifesaver. (Or should I say footsaver?) I also found items in my Resort's gift shop to help as well but those I had to pay for. Either way, find the magic and fun while taking your time! It will be there when you are ready!
I hope this helps and you have a lovely time!
Happy Planning!
