Hi , we are flying into Tampa International when we visit WDW in August this year, am I able to book a transfer thru Disney or do you have any recommended transfer companies?

Greetings Katherine! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for stopping by with your planning question. We're always happy to help.

Katherine, I have family that lives along the Gulf Coast of Florida, and I fly into Tampa International Airport multiple times each year. I frequently combine a family visit with a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. I can't possibly be that close and not visit my main man, Mickey Mouse! Fortunately, the distance between Tampa International Airport and the Most Magical Place on Earth is only about 120 kilometers. Disney's Magical Express® only offers transportation between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, but you have a few options for travel from Tampa.

First, consider reserving a rental car through Alamo or National Car Rental - both companies operate out of the Care Care Center. I have done this a few times, and it is always convenient and reasonably priced. You simply pick up the car at the Tampa International Airport and drop it off at the Car Care Center once you reach Walt Disney World. Depending on availability, transportation from here to select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels can be arranged, but complimentary shuttle service is always available to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you can transfer to a theme park.

Alternatively, a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft could transfer you and your party from Tampa International Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort. You can do some research on both companies' websites to estimate what your fare would be. Remember to account for surge pricing if you will be arriving during morning or evening rush hour.

I hope you find a transportation option that works for your party, Katherine. August should be an exciting time to vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about seasonal events, entertainment, and new attractions. We still don't know the exact date for its opening, but Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is scheduled to open at Epcot during the summer of 2020, and I can't wait to experience it!

    Wishing you magic and memories,
