Hi Angela!
Flying to Walt Disney World when you are planning a camping adventure at the
Fort Wilderness Resort takes a lot of good packing and planning. Bringing everything you will need is hard when you have to put it all in suitcases and duffles for the flight.
You won't have to fear if you forget something as the Trading Posts in the campground will also have lots of supplies available to purchase. You will love the facilities and the resort. There is so much to see and do from fishing, boating, horseback riding, and simply just relaxing. The comfort stations for the camping area are in immaculate condition with great shower rooms, toilets and sinks as well as laundry facilities and ice machines.
Each tent site will have power, water, cable and picnic table and grills. The sites drain well and they will never assign you to a site that has standing water where tents need to be placed. Once you arrive if you feel you are not happy you can call central reservations to see if a room is open for you to book instead. But there is no guarantee one is going to be open at any of the resorts.
Rain comes almost daily in many of the months and campers never let that hold them back from having a wonderful family vacation. Even the guests in the resorts learn to deal with being wet now and then and carry their ponchos everywhere they go. We have an RV but I enjoy the relaxed vacation where I don't care about the look or the hair beyond being clean!
