We will be flying in to Orlando/Sanford airport and we are not renting a car. What are your suggestions for most reliable, safe and cost effective way to get to POR?

    Hiya Danielle!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I always get so excited when I see fellow Canadians in our queue, so I am thrilled to be answering your question today. The moment you get to the Orlando International Airport is always so special, so let's talk about my favourite transportation option to get to your Resort.

Personally, I have used MEARS Connect on my last few trips and loved it every time. Since the company servicing MEARS Connect is the same that was servicing the Magical Express we knew and loved, it felt very familiar. I picked the standard option, which was half the price of taking an Uber or other rideshare services, and for both ways! On my last trip, our Disney Resort hotel was the first stop on our route, and we did not wait too long, but if you are worried about spending too much time on the bus, you can also look at their shuttle options! The shuttles are a bit more expensive, but they are usually quicker as you do not know which stop your Disney Resort hotel will be at in advance. Even when I had the second to last stop, however, I did not feel it took too long to get to my Resort, so I would highly recommend MEARS Connect!

My biggest recommendation when planning your transportation to and from the airport would be to peruse the website and see which option best fits your needs and budget. Indeed, MEARS Connect offers different options to accommodate different needs, so you can truly see which one is best for you and your family. While taxis and rideshare services are also available at the airport, they are usually more expensive than the MEARS Connect service. If you decide to use rideshare applications, the Orlando International Airport has a reliable WiFi connection, so you do not have to worry about getting a cellphone program.

I hope this was helpful, Danielle, and that you and your fellow Mouseketeers will have the most magical vacation on your next Walt Disney World Resort trip. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your trip, please don't hesitate to reach back out. You're as welcome as can be!

    Have a magical day,
