I am flying into Orlando a day before my cruise out of Port Canaveral. Where would you suggest I stay for the night and how do I get from the airport to the hotel? Also, I have a toddler and am not planning on bringing a booster seat. Thanks!

    Hiya, pal!

Oh boy! You're in for a great adventure aboard the Disney Cruise Line. It sounds like you have plans similar to my family's next cruise. My recommendation is to plan something similar to what we are doing.

I believe the most convenient way to travel to the Port Canaveral cruise terminal with a little one is using a Disney Cruise Line ground transfer. No booster seat will be required on their comfortable motor coaches. Transfers are available from either the Orlando International Airport (MCO) or from a Walt Disney World resort hotel. As much as I love visiting Disney World, only one night and maybe a bit of an afternoon/evening after flying into Orlando might not be enough time at The Most Magical Place on Earth to justify staying at Disney World before your cruise. So I recommend a ground transfer from MCO to the port.

That leaves choosing a hotel near the airport to spend that night before your cruise. Well, I can't think of a more convenient option than the hotel at the airport itself: the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport Hotel. That's where we'll be staying the night before our upcoming cruise. What's more, the Disney Cruise Line and the Hyatt Regency hotel have a special arrangement to make moving your non-carry-on luggage from your hotel room at the airport to your stateroom on the ship as seamless as possible. Sure, I can find more affordable hotel options near the airport. But the peace of mind and convenience of not having to arrange for transportation from the airport to the hotel and then back to the airport the next morning, along with all of our luggage, makes choosing the Hyatt Regency as easy as it gets.

You may purchase a ground transfer back to the airport to catch your flight back home after your cruise. Or you might choose to do something like what we are doing. We booked a ground transfer to take us to a Disney World hotel, where we'll stay and play for a few days after our cruise. We can't wait to enjoy our land and sea vacation experience. After a few days visiting the theme parks at Disney World, we'll book third-party transportation back to the airport for the final leg of our journey back home.

I hope you have an amazing vacation, friend! Please let us know here at planDisney if you have any more questions or requests for recommendations. It's our pleasure to help out.

    See ya real soon!
