If I am flying into Orlando airport a day early and staying at a hotel, will we need to pick up our checked bags or will Disney securely store them and take them to the boat?

    Ahoy, Leah!

It looks like you'll be celebrating in style this year onboard one of Disney Cruise Line's Halloween on the High Seas sailings! How SPOOK-tacular! It will certainly be a celebration to remember as I fondly recall all the ghostly fun my goblins and I had a few years ago when we enjoyed a delightful Halloween-themed voyage. Do you have your costumes ready? Dressing up as Pinocchio and attending Mickey's Mouse-Querade Party with my Tinker Bell ballerina and Mickey Mouse baseball player (#28 of course) was probably my most favorite memory of the sailing along with seeing the Disney Characters in their adorable Halloween attire! I love an opportunity to meet-and-greet with the Characters in some of their unique outfits!

Leah, flying in a day early is very smart because it really makes your land to sea transition smooth sailing. My family always likes to arrive early, so we are well-rested and ready to go on embarkation day. Since you are traveling by air a day prior to your cruise departure, you will need to swing by the carousel to pick up your bags as luggage delivery is only available for same day flights. This also means that you'll want to hold off on placing your Disney Cruise Line luggage tags on your suitcases until after your arrival in Orlando. If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency connected to the Orlando Airport and utilizing Disney Cruise Line ground transportation, then you will be able to take advantage of luggage pick-up the following morning from your room. Specific instructions will be provided upon check-in, but you can plan luggage pick-up around 8:30 a.m. Transfers from the airport to Port Canaveral begin around 9:00 a.m. at Disney's Magical Express (main terminal Side B, Level 1).

We are so glad you cruised by with your question, Leah. Please let us know if we can assist you further with your plans.
