Warm greetings from the Sunshine State, Martin! Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question.
What a sweet vacation you have planned with your little guy! I'm the mom of an 11-year-old boy myself, and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I cherish all the special moments with my son that I can, so I love that you've planned a trip just for the two of you.
We're just finishing up Spring Break here in many school districts in Florida, but there are still lots of visitors coming in from elsewhere. That, along with Easter just around the corner, has made the Walt Disney World Resort pretty busy right now. Looking at the
Availability Calendar, I'm not seeing
Disney Park Pass reservations open in any of the Theme Parks until mid-April. If it's at all possible to postpone your trip until after Easter, you'd have much better luck with reservations. For example, Memorial Day weekend is showing availability for all of the Parks, so that might be a great time for a weekend getaway!
I know it's very short notice, so if you can't change your plans, you can still have a great time at Walt Disney World without visiting the Parks.
Blizzard Beach is now open, and I'm sure your son would love a day of fun in the sun at a water park! Speaking of water, your
Resort hotel pool is a great way to splash the day away! Plus, you can visit
Disney Springs and snack on the
craziest darn cookies you ever set eyes on, pick up a
new LEGO set, and
dine with dinosaurs. Later on, you can putt around with a
round of miniature golf. Even Disney transportation can be fun, with a ride on the
monorail, a
ferryboat, or the very cool
Disney Skyliner.
Martin, keep checking for availability in case other Guests have a change of plans. I have my fingers crossed for you! In the meantime, even if you can't make it into the Parks this time, you and your son can still have a magical time together - and Walt Disney World will still be there when you're ready to return.
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
