Welcome to planDisney Dorothy!
I am so happy to hear you are planning a
Disney Cruise! With so much to do on board, everyone in your travel party will find their favorite activity whether it is a day of pampering at the
Senses Spa, enjoying fine dining at
Palo, or just lounging by the pool and soaking up the sun!
The Miami Airport will be the closest airport to PortMiami. It is about a 30-minute drive from airport to port. The Disney Cruise Line website suggests a flight landing no later than 1:30pm. However, if it all possible, I personally suggest an earlier flight so you can enjoy more time on the ship and not be stressed about any airport delays. I usually try to fly in the day before and stay at a local hotel and select an early
boarding time. Check flight schedules for your best options.
Ground transfers from the Miami Airport to PortMiami can be added on by calling 800-951-3532. The cost is $21 per guest each way (price subject to change). Have your flight information handy when calling. When landing at the airport, gather your luggage before heading to the port.
From your question, I am guessing you are sailing out of Miami. However, if sailing out of Port Canaveral, Orlando International Airport will be the closest airport. It is about a 1-hour drive from airport to port, with a $39 charge per guest each way (price subject to change).
Flights home should not be scheduled to depart prior to 11:30am per the DCL website. This allows time for the ship to be cleared by local authorities, plus you can enjoy one last delicious breakfast before heading back home.
Wishing you the happiest of sailings on your beautiful Disney Cruise Line ship!
