We are flying into LA and have decided last minute we want to visit the park Friday, the 13. There are only 2 of us. I see that the date is blocked out, can we buy tickets at the gate? This was a last minute trip and I def want to try to get it in

    Howdy, Kristin! Welcome to planDisney!

It looks like an exciting trip is on the horizon for you! I understand that you'd like to make it even more magical by adding a trip to the Disneyland Resort.. and I can't blame you! I've been watching social media posts all week seeing Guests laugh, cry, and rejoice with the return of Character Greetings. We've been waiting a long time to safely give Mickey and his pals a big hug, so be sure to bring your warmest hugging arms if you do make it over to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Last-minute trips are spontaneous, thrilling adventures! But with the reopening measures in place, they can also be a bit tricky. The gradual approach to reopening at the Disneyland Resort was created to prioritize the health and safety of all Guests and Cast Members. The current policy does require Guests to have park reservations for the days they'd like to visit, which is likely why you're seeing those dates in "unavailable gray," as I like to call it. I know it is disappointing, but it may not be the end of your fairytale.

Kristin, if reservations are still available for the park you'd like to visit that day, you can purchase tickets at the gate. However, if you're seeing this date show up in gray when trying to purchase tickets on the website, you will not have any luck with tickets at the gate either. It is strongly encouraged to purchase your tickets and reserve your park in advance, as that is the only way to guarantee entry.

Your other option is to stay diligent and keep checking the Disneyland Resort website for any changes. Guests are human, after all.. and that means their plans often change. If one Guest or family changes the date of their ticket or cancels their plans, their spot does open up for others to reserve. If you continue checking the ticket calendar leading up to your trip to Los Angeles, you may just find that something has changed and you're able to purchase tickets. I currently have the ticket sale portion of the website open and see availability to purchase tickets to visit Disney California Adventure Park on May 13, 2022, the date you mentioned in your question. Availability is subject to change at any moment, so I cannot guarantee that you'll find the same openings, but it is worth a try! Again, keep trying and you never know when the stars may align for you!

    Have a magical day, Kristin!
