We are flying into Heathrow on September 13 to spend the night before boarding the Disney Dream in Southampton on September 14. Do we need to stay in a specific hotel to book the Disney Bus transportation to the port?

    Ahoy, Sandra!

Welcome aboard planDisney! How exciting that you'll be sailing on the Disney Dream's 13-night Westbound Transatlantic voyage! With a little time to explore London before embarkation day, your vacation is shaping up to be an adventure worthy of Phileas Fogg, just with a lot more Disney magic and a lot fewer hot air balloons.

For the smoothest transition from land to sea, I do recommend staying at one of the hotels Disney currently partners with for ground transfers. Staying at one of these hotels allows you and your crew to enjoy a more seamless embarkation morning without worrying about hauling luggage across the city or arranging transportation to a separate pickup location. The current participating hotels, subject to availability, are:
    • JW Marriott Grosvenor House London
    • Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel
    • Hilton London Gatwick Hotel
    • Marriott London County Hall

That said, you are not currently required to stay at one of these hotels to utilize Disney ground transportation. If you'd rather stay elsewhere in London and don't mind a few extra planning details, Disney also offers a London City Center transfer option. The pickup location is currently at the London Marriott Hotel Kensington and is currently priced at $60 per Guest, subject to change and availability.

If you choose the London City Center option, be sure to keep an eye on your email in the days leading up to your sailing. Disney typically sends transfer details approximately five days before embarkation, including the exact meeting location, pickup time, luggage instructions, and any other important information you'll need for a smooth journey to Southampton.

No matter which option you choose, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line directly when you're ready to book your transfers. The Cast Members can confirm the latest availability, current pricing, and transfer options, including post-cruise transportation arrangements once your Disney Dream adventure comes to an end in Fort Lauderdale.

I hope this helps as you put the finishing touches on your transatlantic plans and prepare for an unforgettable sailing aboard the Dream! Between exploring London, crossing the Atlantic, and enjoying nearly two weeks of Disney magic at sea, you have an incredible journey waiting just over the horizon.

Sea ya real soon as the days grow longer and the countdowns grow shorter,
