I am flying into George bush airport in Texas the night before our cruise. We plan on shuttling back to the airport to take Disney cruise transportation. What time should we shuttle back to the airport?

    Hi there, Tana!

Thanks for reaching out to planDisney! I love that you’re planning the details of your trip early. Getting everything set up ahead of time will lead to a stress-free vacation (which is what we all want!).

According to the Ground Transportation page found on the Disney Cruise Line website, transportation from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to the Port of Galveston begins around 9:15 AM in 2026. Disney Cruise Line also recommends that Guests flying into IAH on Embarkation Day in 2027 arrive no later than 10:45 AM for round-trip cruises. Since it’s about a 90‑minute drive to the port, arriving between 9:15 AM and 10:45 AM should put you right in the ideal window, assuming timing remains similar for 2027.

With that in mind, I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line to confirm the details for your specific sailing and to book ground transportation if the schedule works for you. Personally, I always love boarding as early as possible so I can start exploring the ship and enjoying the amenities right away. Beginning my vacation early is always a win!

Since you mentioned flying in the night before (which I usually recommend!), you might consider booking a hotel through Disney Cruise Line. That way, you won’t need to travel back to the airport, as you will be picked up directly from your hotel. It makes Embarkation Day so much smoother, and that’s a big perk for me when I’m getting ready to board a Disney Cruise! Four hotels in the Houston and Galveston area are currently listed on the Disney Cruise Line website, including one right inside the airport. How easy is that? You can book your hotel while speaking with Disney Cruise Line about ground transfers.

Tana, have the most wonderful vacation on your Disney Cruise! Don't hesitate to contact planDisney again if you have additional questions.

    Happy sailing!
