I am flying in on Friday. We are planning to do a park once we get there Friday morning. Our plane leaves at 650 AM so I cant do the genie plus selections at 7AM. Can I give my mom my account info to sign in so that she can make the selections for me at 7?

    Hi Haley, welcome to planDisney!

Virginia is for Disney lovers and I'm excited (and a bit jealous) that you'll be flying south in just a few short days. With such an early flight, I fully support your plan to visit a theme park on your arrival day. I also support your interest in using Disney Genie+ service to maximize the magic on your park day. Genie+ gives you access to Lightning Lane entrances at over 40 attractions throughout the four theme parks.

Disney Genie+ service can be purchased via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Tip Board) anytime after midnight each park day. This means you'll be able to purchase it before you fly off to Neverland. You can book your first Genie+ Lighting Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. I understand you'll be airborne by then so, if your mom is willing, the plan for her to book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction for you makes a lot of sense. Here are a few things for you to consider:

    • Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions are booked via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines --> Tip Board --> scroll to attraction). I recommend practicing the thumb choreography with your mom beforehand so she's comfortable making magic happen that morning.
    • Genie+ Lighting Lane reservations can only be made for the next available arrival time. As such, your mom should book an attraction with an arrival window that aligns with your theme park arrival time. Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations can also be modified to a later time, as the next available arrival window allows.
    • Generally speaking, you should not allow others to log into your online accounts. My panelist pal Amy recently shared the all-important why as it pertains to online security. I understand your extenuating circumstances and have experienced something similar in my own family, so I'll just remind you to be smart and stay safe.

Moms are the magic, and I know yours is happy to be your Disney sidekick this week. I'm sure your gratitude is all the payment she needs, though perhaps a thank you from Main Street Confectionery would be a sweet gesture.

PlanDisney is here to support you before, during, and after your trip, Haley. Hope to see ya real soon!

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
