Is the Flying Fish Cafe kid friendly? I have a 1 and 4 year old and would like to eat there but am worried that they will get bored. If not, Is there somewhere else that you would recommend with similar cuisine that may be more kid friendly?

    Hi Chris,

Flying Fish Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in Walt Disney World.  It often gets overlooked because, unless you're staying near the Boardwalk, it can be tricky to get to.  The food is delicious!

With the exception of Victoria & Albert's, all of the restaurants at Walt Disney World are kid friendly.  Is Flying Fish as exciting as Whispering Canyon Cafe where kids are invited to run around giving ketchup to every table?  Is it filled with visits to your table from favorite characters?  Well no.  It's a signature dining restaurant where guests pay a little extra to have an upscale meal.

You know your children best.  If they can sit through a meal at a regular restaurant back home, they should be fine.  There is a child's menu, they have crayons, and there is a lot to look at, including an open kitchen which I think is kind of fun.  Disney World is a great place to introduce your children to fine dining in a non-stuffy atmosphere.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
