Greetings, Janice!
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited that you are planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth this fall. The
autumn season is my favorite time to visit. The
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be going strong when you arrive. If EPCOT is on your itinerary, plan to spend some time exploring the global marketplaces for amazing small plates and wine pairings. And the
nightly entertainment is a great way to wind down after a day full of fun.
But before you head over to EPCOT, you'll need to head out of the airport and off to Walt Disney World Resort. There are a variety of options available for Guests to travel to their Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel. You can use a bus service like Mears Connect or the new Sunshine Flyer. Mears also offers an express service that heads directly to your resort without stopping at other resorts along the way. Other options for transportation include ride-share services such as Lyft, or renting a car. This gives you the ability to head directly to your accommodations. I recommend pricing out each option to see which is the best choice for your travel party. You may find ride share costs can add up for larger groups, especially if you need more than one vehicle. I would also take convenience into consideration. Bus services typically make multiple stops at various Disney Resort hotels, and some trips can take over an hour. If you arrive mid-morning and have early afternoon reservations for lunch, this service may not be your best option.
I know that feeling the moment you step off the plane. The excitement gets very real, and the entire travel party will be so excited to get your vacation started. I hope these tips help you pick the best route to get from the airport to Disney's Old Key West Resort as quickly as possible so you can start enjoying all of the magic that is to come.
We'll see ya real soon!
