Ahoy and welcome back to planDisney, Cheryl! How exciting that you're planning a
Disney Cruise Line vacation.
My family and I just disembarked the
Disney Dream a couple of weeks ago and I'm already looking for our next itinerary. If you haven't ever before sailed with Captain Mickey, you are in for a pixie-dusted trip. One of my favorite features of this cruise line is the rotational dining. While never leaving the ship, it feels like we are constantly at a new destination!
Now, Cheryl, your question is an important one because unfortunately if your plane is delayed to the point of not making the cruise ship before departure, the ship will not wait for you and you will not be able to board. As a guest who lives in Pennsylvania, we often need to fly to our cruise departure port, so I understand your predicament. My first recommendation would be to consider adding the
Vacation Protection Plan or other type of trip insurance. My next recommendation would be to consider changing the time of your flight or even arriving the night before. Cheryl, I understand that both of these options have an added expense, but if the time of your flight is close to your port arrival time, the expense may be worth it if it fits into your budget. I'll also encourage you to read the
Terms and Conditions Cruise Contract in its entirety. Reviewing the cancellation policy outlined on that page might help as you're thinking about how to best plan for the day.
Cheryl, while I know this wasn't the answer you were wishing to hear, I do hope it's helpful in your planning process. Please come on back to planDisney with any additional questions you might have.
