If we fly into Sanford, FL rather than MCO we can save a lot of money. It is listed as a short distance from Disney. I know that ME is not available there but is anyone familiar w/ that airport? About how much would a cab ride cost? Thanks!

Hi there Lori and thanks so much for the question!

I am familiar with the Sanford Airport, as I used to always snag fabulous fairs on Allegiant.  Sanford Airport is located about 53 miles from the Walt Disney World Resort and a cab ride will take over an hour and usually costs around $115.00 before tip.

It's funny, but I have also used the luxury car service, Elite Limousine, and the price for a chauffeured car was around $150 everything included.

There are also several shuttle services at the Sanford Airport which may save a few dollars in the long run but I would probably recommend renting a car over all of the options!  You can rent a car for one day and return it at one of the Disney World rental car counters!  Compact Cars can be rented for around 30/day one way, so you'll just have to add a few bucks for gas, and VOILA!  Be sure to rent through Alamo or National, as these companies have locations on Disney property. The return city code is ORLR02.

    Best Wishes,
