Hi Cecelia! I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. It looks like you’ll be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort in May, which is one of my absolute favorite times of the year to visit! The weather is often beautiful that time of year, and you’ll also be there during the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!
Arriving at Orlando International Airport (MCO) always makes me feel like my Disney vacation has truly begun, but I’m also usually eager to get to my resort hotel and don’t want to waste a minute! The most direct option available is to use a rideshare service, such as Lyft. The pick up area is near baggage claim, and you can usually get a car fairly quickly. The downside to this is, if you are traveling with children who need car seats, rideshare services can be a little challenging.
If you are staying in a
Disney Deluxe Resort hotel,
Minnie Van service is available to you. This costs more than a typical rideshare service, but in my experience, it is the highest level of service and offers some key advantages. Minnie Vans are driven by Disney Cast Members and can transport up to six passengers in one vehicle, including up to three car seats. You can bring your own or they are also able to provide car seats for you. I spoke with a Cast Member today who confirmed these car seats are Evenflo 360 seats, which are convertible for rear-facing infants through front-facing bigger kids. When we have traveled in Minnie Vans, one of the best parts is chatting with the Cast Member who is transporting us. They can usually offer great tips for your trip and talk about some of their favorite parts the Walt Disney World Resort if you ask them!
An economical option is Mears Connect, which is motor coach bus transportation. You can find their current pricing on their website. This has been a reliable and affordable service when I have used it. However, it is not necessarily direct. When we have used this service, each bus typically carries passengers for multiple Disney Resort hotels, so you may have a longer commute while passengers are dropped off at other nearby resort hotels.
Cecelia, I hope this information helps as you plan your arrival to the Most Magical Place on Earth! I wish I could offer you a magic carpet that will whisk you away to your resort hotel, but hopefully you will find one of these options practically perfect for your needs. If you have any other questions, please come back and see us at
planDisney. My friends and I are eager to help you put a little extra Disney magic in your vacation!
