Welcome to planDisney, Diana!
Thanks for stopping by to ask me this question; I am more than happy to answer it. Yay for receiving your magical device! It's all starting to feel real--swoon! I must admit that I had to "think, think, think" to help solve this mystery. But let's get into what I've found.
First things first, if it's a standard MagicBand, it does not need to be charged at all. You're ready to go as long as it's paired! If it is a MagicBand+, then make sure you also received a black charging cord with it as well.
Although some of these suggestions come from the
Disneyland Resort's website, they can help you with your MagicBand+'s journey to Walt Disney World, The Most Magical Place on Earth. For example, it recommends that you press and hold the band's back button for six seconds. You should feel it buzz twice. If this works, its front light with turn red. Then, press the back button for one more second to see a solid green light.
You can also complete a full factory reset on your MagicBand+. Press the MagicBand+'s back button one time, then immediately press and hold the same button for 15 seconds. The three buzzes and rainbow flashes will indicate that the reset is happening. From there, try pairing your MagicBand+ to the "MagicBands and More" section in your My Disney Experience App again. If you still have issues, you can even try totally deleting and reinstalling the app.
AN EXTRA GEM: Still not resolved? Visit the
online Help Center and call a friendly Cast Member via the "My Disney Experience, MagicBand, and MagicBand+" phone number.
