I am a Florida resident. My and my two kids as well as my brother and sister in law are planning a trip. He and his wife are not FL residents. Can they be in my hotel with me in my room with my FL discount? Also what is the best way to buy the tickets

Hi Mark, and welcome to planDisney!

How exciting that you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort getaway with your family. It sounds like a magical adventure is on the horizon, and I’m happy to help you sort through the logistics so you can focus on making memories that’ll last long after the Mickey-shaped treats are gone!

Let’s start with your resort reservation. Florida Resident special offers are a fantastic way to unlock special savings. As long as you, the Florida Resident, are the one booking the room and present at check-in, you’re welcome to have your brother and sister-in-law stay in the same room under the Florida Resident rate. Just keep in mind that proof of Florida residency will be required at check-in, and you must be listed as the lead Guest on the reservation. As long as that’s in place, everyone’s welcome to enjoy the stay together.

Now, let’s talk theme park tickets. Since you’re a Florida Resident, you’ll see discounted ticket options exclusive to residents when logged into your My Disney Experience account. These tickets do require proof of residency, and only Florida Residents can use them. That means you can purchase Florida Resident tickets for yourself and your two children (as long as they are also Florida Residents), but your brother and sister-in-law will need to purchase standard theme park tickets at the regular rate.

The easiest and most convenient way to purchase tickets for everyone is through the official Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. This way, you can link all the tickets under one account, make your theme park reservations if needed for your visit dates, and start building your plans together from dining reservations to Lightning Lanes and beyond.

I hope this helps you map out a trip that’s both budget-friendly and full of magical moments for the whole crew. If you need help choosing the best resort, figuring out how to maximize a multi-generational visit, or deciding whether to add a sprinkle of Enchanting Extras, I’m here and ready to help you every step of the way.

Wishing you and your family a vacation filled with laughter, love, and a little bit of pixie dust,
