Hiya Barb!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sending us this magical question! Wow, Barb, how lucky you are to be living in the sunshine state! As a Canadian, those year-long summers and palm trees sound like an absolute dream, and it must be so magical to be close to the most magical place on Earth! I am so excited for you to make magical memories with your grandkids that will last a lifetime.
Florida residents have access to some seriously magical perks. However, these discounts for theme park tickets are only available to Florida residents, as
proof of residence is required to have them activated. Indeed, Guests need to provide either a Florida state ID, or bills and mail that are not older than two months old. For children, it means that you need to prove they also live with their parents or legal guardians in Florida, so if they live out of state, you will not be able to use this discount for them, unfortunately.
Now, I thought I would share an activity you will not want to miss when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your grandkids! First, you will be visiting during the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which is perfect for the foodies in your party. Indeed, I always love going from booth to booth to try some of the different treats available, so I highly recommend that you pick up a festival passport or that you check out
Disney Parks Blog's Foodie Guide to see which meals you would like to try. A great activity to do with your grandkids, also, is
Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt! All you have to do is purchase your map and stickers at select merchandise locations and find all the Remy statues around the World Showcase! This activity is advertised as perfect for little ones, but I think it is a lot of fun for chefs of all ages. The best part is you even get a complimentary prize upon completion! Lastly, don't forget to check the artists performing at the
Eat to the Beat Concert Series, as I always have lots of fun attending these quick concerts with my family!
I hope this was helpful, Barb, and that you and your family will have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach back out. You and me, we're in a club now!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
