Hi there, Mary! Welcome to planDisney! I'm always happy to help a fellow Sunshine Stater plan a magical day (or two, or three...) at the Walt Disney World Resort!
And speaking of spending time at Walt Disney World, you'll be doing just that this weekend! I love popping over for a quick trip, and I'm sure you're looking forward to getting a little sprinkling of pixie dust in just a couple of days!
It looks like
buying tickets for your trip is still on your to-do list, so let's get that taken care of right now. One thing many Floridians don't know is that Disney doesn't offer a special rate for us on 1-Day or 2-Day Tickets.
Discounts for Florida residents don't start kicking in until you get to a 3-Day Ticket. I know it can be confusing, but I promise you're not doing anything wrong. That's just the way Disney has Florida resident pricing structured at this time.
If you do end up going ahead with 1-Day Tickets, my advice is to make sure you don't purchase them under the "Florida Resident" heading on the website. In my experience, buying 1-Day Tickets as a Florida resident will require you to provide
proof of Florida residency before using your tickets, even though you're not really getting any kind of special benefit. Going straight to the "Standard Theme Park Ticket" section and buying there will save you a little time when you arrive at the theme park.
Mary, I hope this helps you find the ticket option that works perfectly for you. Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and have a magical time at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
