Hi Cheryl!
Thanks for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is such an amazing addition to
Disney's Hollywood Studios! I am sure your grandchildren will love it! As a Florida Resident, you can purchase
Florida Resident Discounted Tickets for your minor children, since minors do not have to provide
proof of Florida Residency. However, any grandchild over the age of 18, is already considered an adult and must be a Florida Resident in order to use the discounted tickets. You see when a Florida Resident Discounted Ticket is purchased, each adult is required to present a valid Florida Drivers License or Florida ID Card or provide proof of Florida Residency, regardless of who purchases the passes. I recently purchased a Florida Resident Annual Pass for my husband and although I was able to pay for it, the pass was not active until we arrived at Epcot and provided his Florida ID at the ticket window. I wish it could be different, but at this time, the Florida Resident Discounted Tickets are limited strictly to Florida Residents.
Quick Tip: The two attractions in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance are extremely popular! As for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, be sure to arrive early to Disney's Hollywood Studios to join a Boarding Group to experience this attraction. Also, be sure to download the
My Disney Experience App which is where you can join the Boarding Group once you enter the park.
It has been a pleasure assisting you Cheryl! Please feel free to send me any other questions you may have!
