    As a Florida resident, if I purchase a Pixie Pass, am I able to upgrade it to a Pirate Pass prior to using it? If so, how much would that upgrade cost?

    Hey there, Marie. Welcome to planDisney. 

    Marie, I am so glad you are considering joining the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family. I've been a passholder for years and years now and I can say with certainty that it is well worth the initial investment. My family and I have made so many magical memories that will be with me for a lifetime! It's a great program. 

    Right now, most of the Walt Disney World Annual Passes are actually on pause for new sales. The only one that is currently available to purchase is the Disney Pixie Dust Pass, which as you know is only available to Florida Residents. All other annual passes at this time are currently unavailable. So what that means is that while you can purchase a Disney Pixie Dust Pass, you can't upgrade it to another option until those become available once again. We don't yet know a set date when that would be possible. If and when you are able to upgrade, you'll pay the difference between the Pixie Dust Pass price and the Pirate Pass price. I can't give you exacts on that either because I am not sure of what those prices will be when that particular pass becomes available once again. If you are wanting to join the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family sooner rather than later, your best bet is to purchase the Pixie Dust Pass and enjoy it!

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
