Nancy from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

As a Florida resident, I’d like to book a stay for one night at Animal Kingdom lodge for myself and my son and grand daughter (9 years old), who are coming to visit from NY. The date is 12/30/2026. We’d like to visit both Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.

    Greetings, Nancy!

Welcome to planDisney! You picked a wonderful time of year to visit. And a great resort too! The holidays at Animal Kingdom Lodge are absolutely magical. The lobby is transformed with a uniquely themed Christmas tree and gingerbread animals that you can't see anywhere else. It is going to be a great visit!

Nancy, you can secure your upcoming stay online in a few easy steps. First, you'll want to create a My Disney Experience account, if you have not already done so. You will also want to be sure that both your son and granddaughter have one too. They can set one up for themselves and link them to you, or you can create and manage accounts on their behalf. Next, you'll enter the date you are hoping to book and check out the availability at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You'll be able to see what rooms are available and add your preferred selection to your cart. You'll also be able to apply any hotel offers for Florida residents to your stay. I do want to mention that the date you are hoping to book does not currently offer a Florida Resident discount, but it never hurts to keep checking. You can even apply new discounts to your stay should one come out.

Once you have your room booked, you'll want to get those tickets. You can choose to add tickets to your room as part of a package, or purchase them separately. As a Florida resident, you will qualify for discounted tickets, so I recommend the separate purchase option. It is worth noting that when purchasing tickets for family who live out of state (like your son and granddaughter), you will need to choose the standard ticket option for them. But you will still be able to save on tickets for yourself! Be sure to purchase two-day theme park tickets so you can visit both Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom during your adventure.

You can also choose to book your stay by phone if you prefer. You can get started by reaching out to a friendly Cast Member with Tickets and Hotel Reservations to get started!

We hope to see ya real soon!
