    Hi, we will be in Florida for the holidays and staying at fort wilderness over New Year. Does anyone know if they hold any special events to ring in the new year? Also do we get our magic bands when we check in or are the posted out before our stay? Thanks

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You have picked a wonderful time of year to visit. All of the Parks and Resorts are festively decorated and overflowing with the spirit of the holiday season. Celebrating New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort is a magical way to ring in the New Year; you are going to have a "Pixie Dusted" start to 2017! 
     
    All of the Theme Parks with the exception of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park have New Year's Eve fireworks shows. The Parks are very crowded on New Year's Eve, so it's best to have an alternate plan for viewing the fireworks. You can view Wishes nighttime spectacular and/or the New Year's Eve fireworks show outside of Magic Kingdom Park. The beach area at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and the Marina at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, both offer a breathtaking view of the fireworks show! From Disney's Beach Club Resort area you can view the New Year's version of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth on the bridge just before the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. To view the fireworks show taking place at Disney's Hollywood Studios I recommend heading to Disney's BoardWalk Inn and sitting by Luna Park Pool.

    Your MagicBands will be shipped to you in the mail about thirty (30) days before your Resort Hotel arrival. Be sure to go online and customize them so that you can select your color choice and personalization.
