Ahoy Annie!
I'm so happy you flew over to planDisney! We love hearing that you will soon be experiencing adventures in “Never Land”...better known as Disney Cruise Line. Having your travel logistics worked out in advance means more time to focus on the fun. So let’s answer that for you right now so it’s nothing but smooth sailing.
When I read your question, the first thing that popped into my head was the lyrics: “I want to get away, I wanna fly away.” Figuring out exactly how much your cruise costs, including airfare, is super important. Just so you know, flights are not included in the quoted cruise fare. If you are interested in booking air travel through Disney Cruise Line, then check out the
Air Program information and
contact a Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning Specialist or your Travel Agent.
I will say that having made my flight arrangements previously using the Disney Cruise Line Air Program, I not only got a better rate than if I had booked my flights separately (because I checked), it worked out way better for us when the cruise was ultimately cancelled. We received a full refund of our flights as opposed to receiving an airline credit if I had made reservations directly with the airline. I recommend that you check rates both ways and see which one works out better for you traveling from the UK.
Since you have plenty of time between now and next June to make all your flight arrangements, I suggest that you start saving now for your sailing. One money saving method that I really like is buying Disney gift cards in the months leading up to our vacation. It allows me to spread out the costs, and then I can apply the gift cards to pay my cruise reservation balance or towards
onboard purchases. Combine multiple gift cards onto a single card (up to $ 1000) on the
Disney Gift Card website.
Annie, FLY back to planDisney if you have more questions. We hope you have the most magical vacation!
Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust,
Sherry
