Hey there, Dean! Welcome to planDisney. I wish you were here with planning questions for happier circumstances. Waiting for news on situations beyond your control is not very magical. I'm sorry.
With the recent announcements on the airline agreements, I hope all of this advice is unnecessary. But I will tell you everything, just in case you need it.
I know no one wants to cancel a trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. Sadly, sometimes, things happen that keep our plans from coming to fruition. The current policy states
theme park tickets are non-refundable, but there may be a few options.
I've been in a similar circumstance in which life got in the way, and I could not go to Walt Disney World Resort as originally planned. I was able to modify the dates of my
theme park tickets. My experience is doing this before the first day of my tickets' use date, so I recommend trying this as soon as you know you will not be able to catch a flight to Orlando.
You can try
modifying your tickets online or on the
My Disney Experience app.
On the app:
- Open the menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen) on My Disney Experience app
- Tap on "My Tickets & Passes"
- Select the ticket and the option to "Change Ticket"
If you have any challenges, I recommend calling the Existing Tickets contact center. If you call before the ticket's usage date, they may be able to change the date of your tickets or help you put the unused value towards a new ticket purchase. They are available 7 days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern. They are amazing Cast Members and the best able to help.
I hope your flight plans go according to schedule and you can focus on packing for a Pixie-dusted trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any other questions, please come back by planDisney. We'll be wishing upon a star for you!
Thinking of the Happiest Things!
