If our flight gets into Orlando airport at 5:30pm and we are 1st checking into the Caribbean Beach Resort and we would like to eat at Ohana restaurant that evening, what time should we make a reservation for? Thank you.

    Hi Terri,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

I think that your timeline might be very tight. If you are taking Disney's Magical Express motorcoach service, you should allow about 90 minutes from the time you land until the time you are at your resort. This includes time to claim your luggage, head to Disney's Magical Express, to wait for the next motorcoach, drive to Walt Disney World, and drop off guests at other resorts if there are any before yours. This process can be shorter or longer, but I would estimate being at your resort at about 7:00 p.m. By the time you have checked into the resort and gotten to your room, it will likely be 8:00 p.m. Because there is not direct resort to resort transportation at Walt Disney World, you will need to catch a bus from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to Magic Kingdom, and then take a boat or monorail to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to get to 'Ohana. I think that the earliest you could possibly do this is 9:00 p.m. If you are renting a car or taking transportation such as a town car or taxi between destinations, you would be able to reduce this time and possibly be able to make a reservation at about 8:00 p.m.

Let me offer another alternative. My family likes to spend our first night of a Walt Disney World vacation getting familiar with our resort. At Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, you can walk around and take in the relaxing ambiance. You can have dinner at Shutters at Old Port Royale, or even quick service at the Old Port Royale Food Court. 'Ohana is a wonderful restaurant with great food and fabulous atmosphere. I would save it for another night when you can enjoy it at a more relaxed pace.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, Terri!
