Our flight will be arriving around 10 am at the airport. We are not renting a car. Any hints on what to do when arriving, because i don't think the hotel room will be ready by then.

    Hi Amy,

Are you using Magical Express?  On our recent trip in June, we used Magical Express; so we didn't spend any time gathering our luggage.  We arrived at our resort in just a little over an hour of our arrival time.

I would still go to your resort and complete the necessary paperwork to check-in, and sometimes rooms may even be available -- such a pleasant surprise when this happens!  If not, you will be given a phone number to call to see when your room is available and be given your room number at that time.

If you have purchased park tickets for your entire length of stay, I wouldn't hesitate to go to your park of choice and begin celebrating your trip.  If you are worried about using a day on your tickets with a later arrival, Downtown Disney is a fun option since no tickets are required.   You will have many stores to explore and plenty of places to eat if you'd like.

It is also fun to take the time to visit other resorts and maybe have relaxing lunch.  Could I suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge, the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian, or the newest WDW restaurant The Wave at The Contemporary.  These can all be accessed by going to the Magic Kingdom and then transferring over to a boat or monorail; signs will indicate where you need to go.
