Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Emily, and wow, what a great question! I feel like this is right up my alley because I'm Canadian and we eat more mac and cheese than anyone else in the world (its a fact!), and I also live in Texas so I know my barbecue.
I have tried both the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork at
Flame Tree Barbecue and
Eight Spoon Café at
Disney's Animal Kingdom, and it's hard for me to pick a favorite but there are some small differences between them. They're both very similar tasting baked mac and cheese toppped with smoked pulled pork, but the serving at Flame Tree Barbecue is an entrée-sized portion while what you get at Eight Spoon Café is more snack-sized. The serving at Flame Tree Barbecue also comes garnished with onion rings with some coleslaw on the side, so that's a nice little extra if you like those sides, and you can top it with the delicious spicy barbecue sauce they have!
Here is my suggestion for how to enjoy the best of both worlds: grab the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork as a snack at Eight Spoon Café, and then when you're over at Discovery Island near Flame Tree Barbecue, you should try the French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese which is easily one of my top five favorite snacks in the whole of Walt Disney World Resort. This works perfectly if you're using the
Disney Dining Plan, because both of these delicious dishes count for Snack credits!
Have a magical day, Emily!
