We are on a fixed income but want to bring our 11 yr old and soon to be 4 yr old to disney and I need help with knowing how we can pull this off. we want to stay 6night. I don't know what the best deals are and I am a little overwhelmed when I look around.

    Hi LeAndra,

Taking a Disney vacation can be expensive, even if you do it on a budget.  That doesn't mean there aren't deals to be had.  Disney runs some great promotional specials, like free dining, at different times during the year.  If you belong to AAA you can also get some pretty good vacation packages.

First consider your resort options and when you want to travel.  If you want to stay on property, Disney's Value Resorts are ideal.  During slower seasons (September, February), resort rates are going to be much less expensive than during peak season (summer, Christmas, Spring Break).

Right now there is a special for summer vacation travel for 6 night stays June 15 - August 14.  If you travel during this time period, you can save up to 25% on your stay.

Mouse Savers is an online site that lists a lot of great ideas for saving money on a Disney vacation.  Check out there site for tips on saving when purchasing park passes, food, etc.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
