Ahoy, Makeba!
I'm so excited to find out you're sailing for the first time with Disney Cruise Line! The magic begins when you step on the ship, and cast members announce your arrival. Don't miss the Sail Away Celebration on the first day - it's sure to get you in the Disney spirit!
A 3-Night itinerary is perfect for first-time cruisers. Our first voyage with Captain Mickey was a 3-Night, and we loved it!
Each day, you'll receive a Personal Navigator, a schedule of times and locations of activities for all ages. I suggest bringing a highlighter to make note of your "must-dos"! One of our favorite activities was the "Mickey 200", where we worked together to build a vegetable car to race against other families on a little track - it was a photo finish! You'll also find opportunities for trivia games, karaoke and much, much more. Don't get overwhelmed - you can't do it all! I encourage you to take time to relax and just enjoy your time together, at the pool or sharing ice cream treats. You can do as much or as little as you want!
Your itinerary will include a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island. Make sure to check out the
Port Adventures to see if there's something you might enjoy! We like to rent bicycles and cruise around the island - there's a cool observation tower at the end of the trail! My kids also love splashing around at Pelican Plunge - a fun, floating water playground.
If you want a little "me time" onboard, check out the Oceaneer Club and Lab. A big hit with the kids, the clubs give parents a chance to chill out at the pool or spa while the kids are entertained by awesome Youth Counselors.
I hope this helps! Please come back and ask questions when you begin planning - we're here to help! - Diane W.
