We are going on Five night cruise on the disney wonder in February 2023. Will there be a formal night ?

Ahoy there, Yesenia! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited that you and your crew will be embarking on an incredible adventure next February on the Disney Wonder! I already know you'll have an amazing time, because you are going to be on my favorite ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet!

Disney Cruise Line typically has formal nights only on itineraries with seven nights or longer. On shorter cruises like your 5-night itinerary, there’s usually an optional dress up night. Now, I've seen everything from blazers and pantsuits to tuxedos and ballgowns on these optional nights - as well as some cruise casual Guests, too! It's all up to what will make your cruise enjoyable and one of the best things about the dress code is how flexible it is!

I'm usually a "cruise casual all the time" kind of guy, but on occasion, I do enjoy packing a suit and becoming a great frame for my family to turn into a well-dressed catch-all drop zone. haha! At least I'll look nice while I'm holding a diaper bag, purse, and other assorted souvenirs we accumulate from the shops onboard or while sitting down at our dinner table.

So my advice to you would be to do what makes you and your party happy and comfortable! If you and your crew want a formal night, make one by packing your best and dining like royalty! Oh, and one more planDrew-approved tip: if you want to be sure you won't be the only ones, you can check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app when you embark to find out which night is suggested to be optional dress-up! Or if you're traveling with little sailors that just don't want to dress to the nines, you could always plan an upscale dinner at Palo!

Well, Yesenia, I hope that helps clear up what to expect on your cruise next year! Now that you have that out of the way, you can turn your attention to planning for all the exciting activities like Port Adventures, onboard fun, and more!

Thank you so much for sailing my way with your question, Yesenia! If you see any other questions coming over the horizon as you continue planning, please come back to planDisney and drop a message in a bottle my way!

Until then, I wish you fair winds and following seas!
