Welcome back to planDisney, Nichole!
Thank you for stopping by to bring us your planning question. I’m so excited to hEAR you’re planning a stay at the campsites!
The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are their own kind of adventure. It feels like you’re miles away from civilization, but steps away from the magic. It’s the best of both worlds! But, before I get carried away in a
Horse Drawn Excursion Carriage Ride, let’s dive into your question!
Nichole, at a Tent or Pop-Up Campsite, you’re allowed up to two tents, and everything needs to fit within a 10 by 25-foot tent pad. That includes your tents, poles, stakes, and any gear, so the full footprint really matters when you’re planning.
If you’re bringing two tents, they’ll be sharing that same space, which means width becomes your biggest limitation. In real terms, two smaller tents tend to work best, usually around 5 to 6 feet wide each. Once you get into larger tents, especially with rainflies and guy lines, it can start to feel pretty tight pretty quickly.
One tip I always share is to map it out ahead of time or even do a test setup at home. It takes all the guesswork out and makes arrival day feel so much smoother, especially after a long travel day into Walt Disney World Resort.
Now, back to the magical details! Since you’ll be staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, make sure you take time to explore a little beyond your campsite.
Tri-Circle-D Ranch is such a peaceful hidden gem where you can see the beautiful horses that even work on Main Street, U.S.A., inside Magic Kingdom. They are truly majestic!
If you’re up for a fun night,
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue over at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a guest favorite for a reason. It’s lively, a little silly, and includes an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal that’s perfect after a full park day. It’s one of those classic Walt Disney World Resort experiences that families come back to again and again. I might have graced the stage a time or two myself and will share the tale whenever possible!
Nichole, Fort Wilderness really is its own little world within Walt Disney World Resort. I hope your campsite setup is just right and your trip is filled with cozy nights, campfire vibes, and a little extra pixie dust along the way.
See ya real soon,
Emille
